If you have been out looking at new show homes lately think about what they looked like and why you fell in love with them and try and emulate that look in your home. It will sell much faster.
1. The Entrance Way - first impressions are made walking into that front entrance so think of what people first see when coming into your entrance way. It must be clean, the floors should not be scratched or worn carpets laid down and no dead plants hanging around in pots? Is should be bright and airy looking and the walls nicely painted in a light color?
Your favorite new age or classical music--Tim Janis, Enya, Secret Garden. Incense and/or candles. (Please don't burn the house down, fire trucks are really noisy!) Set aside a certain time every day, or as needed. No need to actively meditate, although you may find it unavoidable after a short time, and that's okay. One small detail that you may wish to incorporate is a copy of Desiderata©***, the Max Ehrmann poem popular in the '60s that says, in part, \"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.\" If there was ever a time this little poem is needed it's now. Taking turns reading it may be a good way to start your session every time.
The kitchen, what great rooms to design, and with so many themes available for the kitchen how does one choose? You'll find themes for your kitchen with everything from roosters to cows, and sunflowers to apples, these themes find their homes on canister sets, stovetop hiders, pot holders, wall accessories, etc. But the right one to fit your style is out there, it may take you a few trips to the store.
Paintings are elegant and colorful and if they are original works, they can be very valuable and expensive. A professional work of art such as a painting might make for a great conversation piece in a dinning room or living room and be thought-provoking for your guests as well. Then there is the task of picking out frames for your art work. This task is almost as important as picking out the piece of art itself. Picking the wrong frame can make the art piece over powering or underwhelming and throw the entire room off completely. Lets face it, picking out artwork for a living room, formal space, or any room in your home is not easy and it can make or break the whole experience of the room.
