There are many categories of triptych photography, such as Landscapes, Seascapes, Nature, Still life and even Cityscapes. You could feature a view of the New York City Skyline at night or a view of a moon resting over the Brooklyn Bridge. You could feature a view of the Golden Gate Bridge stretching out into the fog or a beautiful picture of Venice, Italy coming to life at night. There are many possibilities and many stories to tell with a great photograph.
Although the theme of your kitchen may get a little difficult you'll find it hard to believe that the way you design your kitchen will be a more vital decision. It would be a good idea to remember back to kitchens you have used in the past and determine the things you liked best about the room. Then consider all the individuals who will be using your kitchen and how much traffic you will have in and out of your kitchen.
Another great photo option is a large triptych photo print. These are large frameless pictures divided into 3 equal sized panels. This tends to soften the effect of the photo and help it blend in better than a single framed photo or painting. And because the large photo is divided into 3 panels it displays more like a collection of art work. You can cover an entire wall with one triptych photograph, making it the focal point of the room or accenting colors already present. Also, they display best without frames. This will save you lots of money and the added headache of finding the right frame and mounting the art work.
Noise isn't just a problem for our psychological well being, either. Your serenity room may double as a physical health room, as well. Research shows a strong link between excessive noise and heart disease. According to research by the World Health Organization, thousands of people around the world are dying prematurely from heart disease triggered by long-term exposure to excessive noise. For instance, it's estimated that heart disease caused 101,000 deaths in the UK in 2006, and the study suggests that 3,030 of these are caused by chronic noise exposure, including daytime traffic. It could well be in the interest of your health to make a serenity room.
Your favorite new age or classical music--Tim Janis, Enya, Secret Garden. Incense and/or candles. (Please don't burn the house down, fire trucks are really noisy!) Set aside a certain time every day, or as needed. No need to actively meditate, although you may find it unavoidable after a short time, and that's okay. One small detail that you may wish to incorporate is a copy of Desiderata©***, the Max Ehrmann poem popular in the '60s that says, in part, \"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.\" If there was ever a time this little poem is needed it's now. Taking turns reading it may be a good way to start your session every time.
