Decorating from scratch, that is a new home, is relatively easy and just by browsing on the internet you will get many ideas for decor, color schemes and price ranges. Or if you are redoing your home then of course it will take some more time to get the old out and discarded, to make way for the new. Kitchens are important in that you need your cabinets fitted with a wood that can be matched with wall tiles and flooring. Blend in the colors to create uniformity and space.
Last but not least are the napkins. A really interesting style is to use two different colors of napkins and make a star like shape. Start by laying one down parallel with the table and then turn the next one forty five degrees in either direction. Another great idea is to take the two colors and tie them together in a bow or other shapes.
Now pick a favorite character. Santas and snowmen are always popular. Ms. Claus is another popular one and gives off the essence of caring and giving. A tip here is to use a smaller figure, if this is to be used as a centerpiece for the dining table. Nobody wants to have to look over or around the centerpiece while talking to someone on the other side of the table.
Many people don't actually know which room to start with, and here it's best to start with the most favorite - the kitchen. It is best to get it done before the other rooms, because this room is important - gastronomically speaking, and needs to be up and running in a matter of days.
How to use your serenity room? Take an hour per week, or day, or whatever time you decide, and go there. Light the candles. Draw the shades. Put on acappella chant, Tim Janis, Enya, or Secret Garden on the stereo. Stretch out together on the pillows, and just listen to each other breathe. Relax. Enjoy. If this isn't part of everyone's mental health regimen yet it soon will be, as people discover the value of this priceless 'sensory deprivation'. The biggest obstacle you'll find in the beginning is allowing yourself the luxury of ignoring all the 'have to's', 'should be's' and general restlessness that causes you to need the room in the first place. But it's noise that's the primary concern.
